Yahoo! Inc. ("Yahoo!") hereby submits this comment expressing its
support of the draft Motion on Domain Name Tasting seeking amendments to
the various Registry Agreements which will modify practices regarding
the functioning of the Add Grace Period ("AGP"). Yahoo! is a leading
global Internet brand and one of the most trafficked Internet
destinations worldwide. With more than 500 million users around the
globe, Yahoo! is focused on powering its communities of users,
advertisers, publishers, and developers by creating indispensable
experiences built on trust. The company is headquartered in Sunnyvale,
California and has a presence in more than 20 markets and regions
worldwide. As such, Yahoo! has been greatly affected by the abuses of
the AGP associated with domain name tasting. Yahoo! is pleased to see
the GNSO Council take affirmative steps to thwart the current abuses of
the AGP that have been identified. Yahoo! is in support of the current
Motion and encourages the GNSO Council to send the proposal outlined in
the Motion to the ICANN Board as a proposed solution to the current
abusive practices associated with the AGP.
