[gnso-ccwg-dt] Confirming DT final decision on charter and motion for submission to ccNSO & GNSO Councils
Dear Drafting Team members, Following from the on-list discussions on the draft charter of recent weeks, the most recent version of the draft charter (dated 3 March and circulated to the list prior to the call today) was confirmed as the final version at the DT meeting earlier today. The charter will now be sent on to the ccNSO and GNSO Councils for their approval by the two co-Chairs (Becky and John, respectively), along with a motion for both Councils to vote on. The motion, if carried, will mean that a new cross-community working group (CWG) will be formed in accordance with the terms of the charter as approved. The motion was also discussed and amended by DT members during the call today. A copy each of the charter and motion is attached to this email for your final review and records. Please send any notes or questions you may have to this list as soon as possible the document deadline for the GNSO in relation to actions to be taken (including votes on a motion) at the ICANN meeting in Singapore is 15 March. Note that for the ccNSO submission to the ccNSO Council, the word "GNSO" where it appears in the Resolved clauses of the motion will naturally be replaced with the word "ccNSO". Please note that the DT co-chairs are scheduled to give an update to the GNSO during the GNSO's weekend working sessions on Saturday 22 March, from 10.30-10.45 a.m. (local time) in the Sofia Room. In addition, a slot has been reserved for the DT on Thursday 27 March, from 08:00-09:00 a.m. (local time) in the Moor Room. Although the DT has now completed its work on the charter, the members on the call today felt that the slot should be used to engage in an initial discussion about moving forward with the tasks facing the CWG that will be formed after charter approval. You are most welcome to attend both sessions and it may be particularly useful if you can encourage interested members of your community to attend the Thursday morning discussion.
