We also encourage you to join the call. Thank you very much for your assistance! Best regards, Julie From: Julie Hedlund <julie.hedlund@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Tuesday, September 3, 2013 5:36 PM To: "Ching Chiao [Registry.Asia]" <chiao@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>, Edmon Chung <edmon@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: "gnso-contactinfo-pdp-wg@xxxxxxxxx" <gnso-contactinfo-pdp-wg@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: Request for Review: Draft PDP Charter Dear Ching and Edmon, I am contacting you on behalf of the Charter Drafting Team (DT) that is developing the Charter for the PDP Working Group on the Translation and Transliteration of Contact Information. You are listed as members of the DT, but we realize you have been unable to attend the recent calls. Because you have valuable experience with other ICANN PDPs and WGs (IDNs, Variants, etc.) we would like to engage you specifically in the Charter development process. Note that at this stage we are focused just on the development of the Charter. The goal of the DT is to send a Charter to the GNSO Council no later than 30 September so that it can vote on it at its 10 October meeting. Once the Charter is approved staff will send out a call for volunteers for the PDP WG on this issue. We will strive to have broad representation and expertise on this WG and we strongly encourage you to join it when the time comes. As a reminder, the task of the DT is described on the wiki at: https://community.icann.org/display/tatcipdp/Translation+and+Transliteration +of+Contact+Information+PDP+Home. The DT has met three times and over the course of these meetings it has developed the attached draft Charter. We encourage you to review the Charter specifically the Mission and Scope in Section II. In this section we identify the issues as set forth in the Final Issue Report approved by the GNSO Council. These issues arose directly from the Final Report of the Internationalized Registration Data Working Group (IRD-WG). For reference see the documents at: http://gnso.icann.org/en/issues/gtlds/transliteration-contact-final-21mar13- en.pdf and http://gnso.icann.org/en/issues/ird/final-report-ird-wg-07may12-en.pdf respectively. The Charter, as you know from your experience, should identify the issues (consistent with the Issue Report) and define the scope of the work in a way that doesn't prevent the WG from considering other issues that may relate directly to the PDP. It would be very helpful if you could provide your comments and/or edits on the Charter prior to our next DT meeting on Thursday, 12 September at 1500 UTC and we also hope that you can join that meeting. A meeting notice will be sent to the list tomorrow. Thank you very much for considering our request. We are grateful for any guidance you may provide. Best regards, Julie Julie Hedlund, Policy Director Attachment:
