I think it might be simpler and more straightforward, rather than talking  
about verified email addresses, to say just what you have said below?   
Otherwise this question will arise again and again to cause confusion  -- and 
if we 
don't know what a verified email address is, no one from the  public will

The verification  process is simply an email sent to the address of the 
poster asking for a  response, i.e. verification just checks that the email 
address 
is live and not  spoofed.
