2       Re-cap of GNSO Council meeting (20 July) and Board resolution at
Marrakech

 Jordyn noted that the actions for the task force were to continue its work
with the goal of submitting work to the GNSO Council by the Sau Paulo
meeting in December 2006, and also for the task force members to review and
consider the recent input received regarding the purpose of Whois (posted on
the ICANN website at  <http://gnso.icann.org/issues/whois-privacy/>
http://gnso.icann.org/issues/whois-privacy/) under two new headings on the
left hand side of the page: Government Input  and
          <http://gnso.icann.org/issues/whois-privacy/correspondence.html>
Whois Correspondence.

 

 

3      OPoC Proposal

The task force shared and discussed the implications of removing various
fields from display by the Whois service, e.g. 'nameholder', 'mailing
address', etc.  Further discussion on removing contacts (e.g. 'admin
contact') is required and will be continued on the next task force call.

         Ross sent revised text to the task force for further consideration.


The next conference call of this task force will take place on Tuesday 1
August at 7:30 Pacific time, 10:30 EST, 14:30 UTC, 16:30 CET. Please note
that this is next Tuesday. 
 
This call will discuss the consequences of removing some of the contacts. It
will also discuss how the definition of purpose relates to the OPoC
proposal.
