Dear task force members,
Following our call today, here is a quick re-cap of the outstanding work and
timings over the next 2 weeks.
We are revising the Task Force Report over the next 10 days for submission
ahead of the next GNSO Council meeting on March 1st.
The task force will complete its work on 19th February, 2007.
This week:
A further revision of the report will be circulated by Wednesday, this
week,7th February. It will include the following:
- responses to the public comments
- re-working of the structure to have more clear majority report,
and a minority report.
12th February
At our next call, on 12th February, there will be a straw poll to indicate
which of the policy positions will become the majority position of the TF
and which will become the minority report.
Following the straw poll, the structure of the report will be finalised, and
divided into the task force proposal and a minority report. Any necessary
information to frame the minority report will also be added after the straw
poll.
19th February
There will be a final task force call on 19th February. Bearing in mind that
this is a public holiday in the US, this will be a largely administrative
call to wrap up the work of the task force. The task force vote will be held
by email from the 19th to the 21st February.
Other issues arising from today's call:
*
Ross and Avri (GNSO Councillors) have been requested to ask the
Council if/how it wishes task force members to continue to be part of future
dialogue on Whois, for example during the Lisbon meeting. Jordyn's
assumption is that the work of the task force will have come to its
conclusion with the submission of the Final Task Force Report.
*
Ross will check with the Registrar Constituency who are the two
voting members of the task force.
Best regards, Maria
