Dear SCI members,

As the need for more information for councilors and community members was a 
topic of a comment on the Working Group Guidelines Survey and also has been 
mentioned a few times on the SCI list, you may be interested in the update from 
Rob Hoggarth below.

Also, the question arose yesterday about where one can find the GNSO Council 
Operating Procedures.  These may be accessed as follows:

1.  From the ICANN main page at: http://www.icann.org/ click on the Groups tab 
on the top menu bar
2.  From the Groups page click on the GNSO tab on the menu bar on the left-hand 
side of the page
3.  From the GNSO page at: http://gnso.icann.org/en/ click on the Council 
Activities tab on the top menu bar and scroll down to click on Procedures

On the Procedures page you will find the latest version of the GNSO Council

Dear Council Members;

I previously advised you about staff efforts to develop a set of introductory 
material “modules” designed to serve as a standing resource for councilors and 
community members on a variety of introductory "basic" GNSO topics.

I am pleased to report that we have completed the first set of materials and 
are readying to post them on the updated "Basics" page of GNSO.icann.org.  
Rather than fill your mailbox with all six modules at once, I have posted them 
to the GNSO Council Resources wiki page at - 
https://community.icann.org/display/gnsocounres/General .  The redesigned GNSO 
Basics page - http://newgnso.icann.org/en/basics/getting-started – should be up 
on the GNSO web site within a few days. We hope it will be a helpful resource.

Please feel free to access the new materials from the wiki attachment links and 
offer any comments in the space.  Staff is particularly interested in hearing 
about any new/additional topics that you think should get the "basic" treatment.
