  Kiran Malancharuvil:Thanks Nathalie
  Steve DelBianco (BC):much better, thanks
Steve DelBianco (BC):let's insert examples,: .OlympicAir coudl pursue
non-objection letter or Claim & Explain, while .Olympic (paints) would fail
Konstantinos Komaitis:to make an addition to steve's examples, if we do add
we need to add .olympia since there is such a Greek community
Debra Hughes:hereafter ("IOC or RC) respectively
Brian Peck: a) The Modified Reserved names are available as gTLD
strings to the International Olympic Committee, International Red Cross and Red
Crescent Movement (hearafter, the "IOC/RC" respectively) and their respective
components as applicable.
Brian Peck: a) The Modified Reserved names are available as gTLD
strings to the International Olympic Committee, International Red Cross and Red
Crescent Movement (hearafter, the "IOC/RC" respectively) and their respective
components as applicable.
Debra Hughes:@Brian - its "hereafter" and not "hearafter"
Christophe Lanord:to the International Olympic Committee (hereafter the IOC),
International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (hereafter, the Movement)
Konstantinos Komaitis:Joy is yet to be given access to the Adobe room - can
someone from staff please give her access? thanks
  Alan Greenberg:RC squared?
  Alan Greenberg:(that was a joke...)
Brian Peck:The Modified Reserved names are available as gTLD strings to the
International Olympic Committee (hereafter the “IOC”) International Red Cross
and Red Crescent Movement (hereafter “RC RC") and their respective components
as applicable.
Thomas Rickert:The AGB reads: The String Similarity Panel’s task is to
identify visual string similarities that would create a probability of user
confusion.
Thomas Rickert:In this Applicant Guidebook, “similar” means strings so
similar that they create a probability of user confusion if more than one of
the strings is delegated into the root zone.
Alan Greenberg:First pass is an automated one -
https://icann.sword-group.com/algorithm/Default.aspx
Greg Shatan:I believe the current name of the Greek community referred to
above is Archaia Olympia (Ancient Olympia)
Greg Shatan:Standard for String Confusion – String confusion exists wherea
string so nearly resembles another visually that it is likely todeceive or
cause confusion. For the likelihood of confusionto exist, it must be probable,
not merely possible thatconfusion will arise in the mind of the average,
reasonableInternet user. Mere association, in the sense that the stringbrings
another string to mind, is insufficient to find alikelihood of confusion.
Brian Peck:Applied-for gTLD strings are reviewed during the String Similarity
review to determine whether they are similar to those defined in Section
2.2.1.2.3. An application for a gTLD string that is identified as too similar
to a Reserved Name will not pass this initial review.
  Kiran Malancharuvil:Brian, please add Modified
Brian Peck:b) Applied-for gTLD strings are reviewed during the String
Similarity review to determine whether they are similar to those defined in
Section 2.2.1.2.3. An application for a gTLD string that is identified as too
similar to a Modified Reserved Name will not pass this initial review.
Kiran Malancharuvil:it needt o be "a modified reserved name" not "the
modified reserved names" to reflect that it is any one of the names not all of
them
Steve DelBianco (BC):"If the applied-for TLD is not identical .. terms,. the
applicant may override the string similarity failure by: "
Joy Liddicoat:Have we looked at recent string similarity review decisions on
this point?
jeff Neuman:joy - the only ones that exist are with IDN cctlds and those are
not public as far as I know
Joy Liddicoat:ok - i think the point has been clarified in the discussion now
anyway
Steve DelBianco (BC):given the time left on this call, I think we need to
discuss prep for GAC and GNSO meetings
  jeff Neuman:Agreed.
Debra Hughes:I have another meeting in 15 minutes
  jeff Neuman:thx
Alan Greenberg:I am ok for full period.
Steve DelBianco (BC):I must drop in 10 minutes. Sorry
Greg Shatan:I can go til 3.
Joy Liddicoat:i can stay for the full time
Greg Shatan:I think Steve's point is very important.
Osvaldo Novoa:sorry, I'll also be leaving in a few minutes
Joy Liddicoat:Yes - and also actively discussing them
Joy Liddicoat:I would provide a summary of process, rather than a detailed
document on the options
Debra Hughes:I have to drop off now
Thomas Rickert:In my view, the list needs to be exhaustive for reasons of
transparency.
Joy Liddicoat:196 languages? We are getting way outside the guidebook here...
Thomas Rickert:The number of languages can be discussed. Nonetheless, the
list shall be exhaustive.
Greg Shatan: Kryqit te Kuq Shqiptar = Red Cross and Red Crescent in
Albanian....
Joy Liddicoat:Assuming that this is the option that is finally taken
forward...
Joy Liddicoat:I don;t find that a helpful question at this point
  Thomas Rickert:Thanks and bye!
