Dear Olga and DT members,

Essentially the CSG had some concerns along these lines to which other
councilors generally agreed:

John Berard and Zahid Jamil, CBUC — concerned that consolidation of outreach
resources would preclude Constituencies from doing their own outreach
Wolf-Ulrich Knoben, ISPC — concerned that the scope was too broad and went
beyond only GNSO outreach

Bill Drake did raise the point that the text went to the Constituencies and
Stakeholder Groups for review and that the original Recommendations document
when out for public comment, but nonetheless Councilors agreed that issues
remained to be addressed so the motion did not pass. The goal is to produce a
motion for the next meeting that would address the concerns that were raised,
perhaps by directing specific revisions in the Charter.

I will keep everyone here informed on the progress.

Best regards,

Julie

Many thanks Julie for the update.
Could you just summarize which are the arguments against the motion?
Because there was a comment period and the text went to constituencies and
stakeholder groups for revision.
Best regards and a nice weekend to all of you!

All,

The motion to approve the OTF charter was not approved today by the Council
because there were some Councilors who wanted the charter to be revised.
However, a group of Councilors has agreed to produce a new motion that would
include specific revisions to the charter. Zahid Jamil has made the suggestion
to form that group, which I will support, and also recommended that Roy Dykes
should be included from the DT. The group members thus far are:

Zahil Jamil
Bill Drake
Wendy Seltzer
Jeff Neuman
Wolf-Ulrich Knoben
John Berard
Roy Dykes

I will inform you of the progress of that group. The goal is to produce a
motion for consideration at the next Council meeting.

Best regards,

Julie
