Adobe Chat Transcript for Wednesday 16th October 2013:
Marika Konings:Welcome to the Policy & Implementation Working Group Meeting
of 16 October 2013
Michael R. Graham:Afternoon, Marika. Thought I'd get in early to avoid the
rush. MM looks great!
Marika Konings:Hi Michael, thanks for sending through those documents. I have
them ready for upload. Do you want to start your update with the MM?
Michael R. Graham:Thought I would give overview of work -- Challenge,
Approach, Stratgy leading in to your presentation of MM. Okay?
Marika Konings:Sounds good - should I take the MM down for now, or just leave
it up?
Michael R. Graham:Go ahead and leave it up.
Olga Cavalli:hello!
Mary Wong:Hello Olga and everyone!
Michael R. Graham:Hello, Olga!
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:hi all
Mary Wong:Is it just my AC audio stream that's buzzing?
Nathalie Peregrine:no it is an audio bridge.
Nathalie Peregrine:Please all remember that the mute and unmute function
with this provider is *4.
Alan Greenberg:Was on bridge but it just killed me. Will try again.
Alan Greenberg:Back again
Jeff Neuman:hello all
Phillip Marano:Hello everyone. For the roll call, I am also covering for
Brian Winterfeldt. Thanks!
Nathalie Peregrine:i have noted Becky's presence and your cover Philip,
thank you
Nathalie Peregrine:Please all remember to mute your phone line/ AC mike if
not speaking
Chuck:Mistress of the Mindmap! I love it. That needs to be on her badge in
Buenos Aires.
Marika Konings::-)
Mary Wong:LOL - @Jeff, @Becky, that's a suggestion/challenge for a card on
the ICANN slide deck!
Jeff Neuman:Too bad the cards are already in print for BA....maybe for
Singapore :)
Mary Wong:We'll be on the lookout for it :)
Nathalie Peregrine:Amr Elsadr has joined the AC room
Amr Elsadr:Sorry I'm late. Dialling in now.
Nathalie Peregrine:Gideon Rop has joined the AC room
Marika Konings:The idea would be that the work plan would have regular
opportunities to review to work plan to make sure that the WG is able to adjust
as needed
Alan Greenberg:Marika, I agree, but I just wanted to set expectations so
people do not feel that what we are presenting here is definitive.
Marika Konings:Yes, good point
Amr Elsadr:I also agree with Alan's view on the necessity of setting
definitions before proceeding.
Marika Konings:I'm aksing Berry now!
Marika Konings:asking
Nic Steinbach:Can we bring back the list of terms that was up before?
Nic Steinbach:thank you.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:morecommitment to STs than consideration IMO is required
choose a method and Make It Work
Chuck:Please identify yourself when you speak.
Wolf Knoben:avoiding overlaps is crucial
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:yes Chuck Sorry it was my error to not have my name
stated....when I intervened
Maureen Cubberley:sorry Cuck. I should have identified myself as well in my
comments about focussing on th deliverables.
Maureen Cubberley:that would be Chuck :-)
Amr Elsadr:@Alan: Opinionated is not bad..., and your experience would also
be very valuable. :)
Nathalie Peregrine:Please all mute speakers and phones
Amr Elsadr:@Maureen: Good point on flavors.
Marika Konings:I think the staff discussion paper provides an overview of
some of the different 'flavors'
Maureen Cubberley:thanks Marika
Michael R. Graham:@Amr & Alan -- Agreed.
Nic Steinbach:sorry about that - microphone is not an option today.
Maureen Cubberley:would "variations" be a subsitute for "flavors"?
Michael R. Graham:Is "types" any clearer than "flavors"?
Michael R. Graham:Co-typing -- I'd agree with "variations"
Nic Steinbach:variations or types both seem like improvements
Maureen Cubberley:i agree..either would do well.
Bladel:Leave UTC until all regions have changed, then advance UTC + 1 hour
Amr Elsadr:Not changing it will be problematic for me. I'm OK if it's just
for one call, but hopefully not after daylight savings ends in the U.S.
EnCirca - Tom Barrett:thanks'
Marie-laure Lemineur -NPOC:thanks bye
Amr Elsadr:Thanks. Bye.
Phillip Marano:Thanks, Bye~
Mary Wong:Bye all, thank you!
Maureen Cubberley:thank you. goodbye.
