A quick comment - under "b) Translation",

In contrast to the above, one finds ISO 639-2 so 'generic', for
example, refers to "Germanic languages",  "Afro-Asiatic languages",
"Romance languages", etc) how applicable is this with regard to
translations? - since hard for me to foresee a  translation into/from
those generalised languages. I thought UN(ESCO) language
identification route was discussed?
