Dear All:
I have attached below an email I received yesterday afternoon from
Ken. As you can see, Ken's duties have kept him from making any
progress on our draft. Accordingly, Ken, Liz and Marika are currently
working to transition this work from Ken to Marika. At this juncture,
I believe it is best for us to CANCEL our schedule call tomorrow until
Ken and Marika can sync up on transitioning responsibility for this
work. Once the transition is complete and Marika is up to speed, she
and I can sync up and then schedule a call.
I apologize for the continued delays, but that is the beast we call ICANN.
By copy of this message I am asking Gisella to cancel the call
schedule for the WGWT tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for their continued patience.
Regards.

J. Scott:
Since the time that we cancelled the 22 July call, I honestly thought
I would have time to work on the WGT document drafting activities –
even if just enough to make some noticeable progress. Unfortunately,
no such luck! With the preparations for the SIC and Board meetings
this month, among other activities, there has not been any spare time
available. I actually thought I could start making progress this
past Friday since the Board meeting was over. Then, three new
assignments poured in directly resultant from the Board meeting that
gobbled up the entire day and several more were identified today…
I wrote and talked to Liz about this predicament facing the stark
reality that, for a 2^nd time, we would have to cancel our WGT session
with nothing new to report.
Liz has rearranged priorities within the Policy Staff and asked Marika
to pick up the principal drafting tasks since my workload has not
abated and, being the “shortstop” on the GNSO Improvements team, there
are lots of additional preparations needed to seat the new GNSO
Council in Seoul.
I just received confirmation from Marika and we will begin the
transitioning activities over the next few days.
If you prefer, I will write a brief email to the team by way of
explanation.
While the news is not “good,” we do have a plan to make progress going
forward.
Please advise.
Thanks and regards,
Ken
