Dear Marika:
One of my action items was to remove redundancies from the topics on the
topics sheet [

buse_policies_working_group:20090730090118-0-18969/original/RAPWG%20Abuse%20
Categories%20and%20Types%20-%2030%20July%202009.doc ]. Can you make the
following alterations? When the group gets to these topics, we'll naturally
discuss the definitions etc. more.
Phishing: change defintion to: "Web sites purporting to be a trusted brand
in order to acquire sensitive in formation from consumers (e.g. online
banking credentials, email passwords, etc.). Usually involves e-mails to
lure potential victims to phishing web sites."
Remove "Phishing e-mails" topic. (Attack vector now included in the
phishing topic. And we have spam on the list already.)
Move "Pharming" so that it falls directly beneath "phishing"
Change topic to "Malware" rather than "malware Websites". Definition:
"distribution of malware, either on Web sites or by other means. Sometimes
involves e-mails to lure potential victims to malware web site."
Delete "Malware e-mails" topic
Spam: modify definition to "bulk unsolicited e-mail." We can fine-tune
definition when we get to the topic.
"Gripe/Commentary Site" appears on the list twice; please delete one
instance.
"Offensive" appears on the list twice; please delete one instance.
Delete "Domain phishing" topic; it duplicates the "phishing" topic
Thanks!
All best,
--Greg
