Dear all,

First, please allow me to express my apologies for dropping off of this
discussion group pre-Singapore due to too much on my plate. I believe that
Steve Coates and perhaps one other BC member have joined in replacement.

Notwithstanding stepping back, I was just going through Chuck’s comments on the
draft working text and wanted to also weigh-in on the following:

1. From our research, we understand the NCUC, NPOC and NCSG membership lists
are publicly available. The following SGs/Cs do not make membership information
publicly available:

 The RrSG and RySG  IPC  ISCPC and BC

The BC membership list is the first thing noted on our web site, right above
our Charter: http://www.bizconst.org/members/

2. That the GAC-GNSO Consultation Group on Early Engagement continue its two
work streams as priority projects. As a part of its work it should consider how
the GAC could appoint a liaison (non-voting) to each GNSO PDP WG as a means of
providing timely non-binding input.

Having been actively engaged in discussions for one (or more) GAC members to
join the Nominating Committee, the issues govenrments face in providing
liaisons to the Nom Com, working groups or other bodies is that no one nation
can speak or act on behalf of another sovereign nation. Hence, even if there
was a significant number of GAC members in agreement with sending liaisons (and
there is no evidence of that as far as I see) there is no current mechanism to
effect what Westlake is suggesting.

Otherwise, I am generally supportive of Chuck’s contributions and recommend
that they be carefully considered vis-à-vis incorporating the
corrections/clarifications in the final draft.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

RA

Subject: Updated on GNSO Review Working Party Timeline

Dear GNSO Review Working Party,

Thank you to everyone for your active participation in our call to provide
initial feedback to the Westlake team last week. You diligence in reviewing
the report and providing feedback is greatly appreciated!

To address concerns regarding the timeline, we have worked with Staff and
Westlake to adjust the timeframe for next steps. I have attached a Word
document which details the adjusted time frame and also dropped in below a
graphic showing the timeline modified to respond to community concerns.

Please continue to provide redlines, letters or responses through March 20th,
so that Westlake can take this into consideration when revising their report.
You can send this through the list or post on the wiki. All comments will be
provided to Westlake.

When delivering the next version of the report, we have asked Westlake to be
clear in stating its rationale for any comments which they do not take
incorporate into their report. The next version will be provided as Draft 0
and circulated on April 24th. Please note dates for subsequent calls and
meetings to respond to Draft 0 are included on the attached timeline and
schedule.

I hope you will agree this is helpful in providing additional time to gather
and provide feedback in a meaningful way. I look forward to continuing to work
with you and welcome your feedback. I wish you all a Happy Spring and look
forward to talking again in May!
