NCSG charter

Dear all,

As a member of NCUC, after following the process of construction of the 
NCSG charter submitted by NCUC in March 2009, I consider ICANN's 
decision of ignoring the Consensus Charter created by Noncommercial 
Users unacceptable. In discarding the result of NCUC's work, ICANN not 
only disappoints but also disrespects the NCUC's members and the open 
and participatory process that has build the NCSG charter submitted by 
NCUC – which was supported by more than 80 noncommercial individuals and 
organizations.
If ICANN ignores and discards the NCSG charter – built in a democratic, 
bottom-up process – and imposes the ICANN staff drafted charter for a 
Noncommercial Stakeholder Group, it makes us feel there's a lack of 
commitment to democratic, transparent and participatory processes in 
ICANN. Please reconsider this decision and reinstate the charter that 
was drafted by civil society and submitted by NCUC.
