- Subject: [gnso-udrp-dt] Recap of Today's UDRP-DT Call
- From: Margie Milam <Margie.Milam@xxxxxxxxx>

Dear All,
Here is a brief recap of the action items from today's call, which focused on
identifying the speakers/format for the Singapore session on the current State
of the UDRP, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 22 June from
8:30-10:30 am.
The proposed format for the Singapore Session:
* I will open the Session with an overview of the Preliminary Issue
report that (published last week). This overview will go over the Staff
Recommendations, as well as the other parts of the Report, including the list
of issues that is attached as an Annex to the Report.
* I will provide a review of public comments filed to date, and any
questions or comments submitted remotely prior to the Session. It was felt
that if these were read early in the session, the panelists might be able to
address them in their remarks.
* The Webinar speakers will be contacted to see if they plan to be in
attendance in Singapore, and if so, whether they would like an additional
opportunity to comment. Since some speakers may have felt that 5 minutes was
not sufficient time to address their concerns, it was felt that they should be
allocated additional time.
* The panelists will be asked to comment specifically on (i) any of the
public comments/session questions submitted, and (ii) the Staff recommendations
in the Preliminary Issue Report, including
o whether they agree with or have other suggested approaches for dealing with
a review of the UDRP
o whether they have additions to the list of issues described in Annex 2
o whether they would recharacterize any of the issues as "policy" or
"process" issues
* There should be sufficient time reserved for open mic to allow the
public to participate
Also, it was noted that since the attendance in Singapore may be low, there
should be an opportunity to provide comments in advance of the Session, to
allow them to be taken into account. I will explore this with the remote
participation team, and in any event will set up a WIKI page that can also be
used to submit questions/comments in advance.
Please provide any comments/suggestions on this format by COB this Thursday, 2
June. It was felt that no further calls are necessary, and that the
follow-up can be done by email to conclude the planning for this session.
Best Regards,
Margie
