Hi,
I just wanted to clarify one thing:
I was not trying to imply that Eric was actually acting in bad faith. I
apologize if I was understaad that way. I was merely trying to say that
such an action could be understood that way and I therefore am very wary
of such suggestions. I am sorry for any confusion my this may have caused.
I do still maintain the position the move to remove any members is a
very bad idea.
Volker
I also resent the intention to remove the less vocal members of this
WG. It looks like gaming of the setup of this WG to me. Like Michele
says, those who do not want to continue are free to resign at any
time. Those that don't resign may still have something to contribute,
or find their points well represented already.
Best regards,
Volker

Co-Chairs and Colleagues,
The composition of the Working Group could be modified.
1. There are some individual volunteers who've not participated at
all. They may be safely removed from the mailing list.
No they may not.
Just because someone does not post to a mailing list does not mean
they are not participating.
2. There are some individual volunteers who's interest may have been
limited to the "first round" (whenever that happens), and for whom
the only "policy moment" has passed. An "are you still volunteering
to participate in the VI WG" query may encourage individual
volunteers no longer interested in the issue to announce the end of
their involvement.
Well if they want to leave the group they can resign. They're adults ..
3. There may be some individuals who have developed an interest in
the policy and have made substantive comments, and who reflect
interests critical, but unrepresented, in the current composition of
the working group.
In particular I'm thinking of regional or global NGOs and the
problem of advocacy for some forms of "SRSU", and regional or
sub-national public administrations and the problem of advocacy for
some forms of policy differentiation.
Eric
In any case, who made you WG nanny?
