I fully agree.
Any further detail will just overload the document.

The monthly policy update is an extremely comprehensive document, but consider 
the sheer wealth of documents and reports that ICANN now produces and that 
anyone involved with the ICANN processes is called upon to read, I wonder how 
many people actually read it.

My vote is to keep things as simple as possible, while still making sure they 
serve their purpose.

In that light, Jaime's link idea seems like the way to go.
