Thank you Edmon. In the document entitled "Draft Joint ccNSO/gNSO to Board
Single Character IDN TLD", the first paragraph after "Dear Steve" states "In
December 2012 ...". I believe 2012 should be replaced with 2011.
I am fine with the rest of the document.
Cheers,

Subject: [council] Fwd: JIG letter
Councillors,
Please find attached a message from the ccNSO Chair.
I am putting this item on our next agenda and will be seeking from the Council
direction on how to act. Do we want to approve the sending of a joint Council
letter, or do we prefer to let the ccNSO send it's own letter?
Failing any decision or direction from the Council on this at our next
teleconference, I will report to the ccNSO that there is no agreement from the
GNSO on sending the joint letter.
Thanks,
Stéphane

Hi Stephane,
As I advised previously, the ccNSO Council did not adopt the draft letter as
proposed by the joint ccNSO-GNSO IDN WG (JIG). However, the ccNSO Council did
decide to re-iterate its support for the introduction of Single Character IDN
TLD’s and wanted to understand the current status of the implementation of the
Board decision.
Attached is the proposed letter from the ccNSO to the Board (Draft ccNSO to
Board Single Character IDN TLD), which has been shared by email with the
Council, but has not yet been formally adopted. Also attached is a draft joint
letter for discussion with the GNSO (Draft joint ccNSO-GNSO to Board).
As the JIG is a joint WG, the ccNSO Council believes that a joint letter from
the Councils remains the preferred option, and we would appreciate the views of
the GNSO Council on this matter and whether the GNSO is willing to support the
proposed letter.
The ccNSO Council will adopt either the ccNSO or joint ccNSO & GNSO letter, as
soon as possible, depending on the position of the GNSO Council.
Kind regards,
Lesley
ccNSO Chair
