Thanks Jothan for the understanding.
Jonathan,
Please consider the document finalized as sent then.
Also perhaps we could include a special thanks to Jothan on the issue in the
resolution for the adoption of the report.

Actually Edmon, I'd missed that context.
It might be worthwhile to leave it as is for perspective if the closure of the
whitelist is noted. Do we mention that the JIG / Universal Acceptance efforts
provided me valuable support to modify the policy in Firefox browsers?
I poured hundreds of volunteer hours into getting this done on the Firefox
side, and it is actually a rather important community benefit the JIG / UA
efforts helped with - definitely worth noting that Firefox works with all the
new IDN TLDs as they arrive into the root as a result of all of our hard work.

Hi Jothan,
Looking at the document, if I understand you correctly, the paragraph you
mentioned is in the “Background” session.
The description is still accurate, except it has been updated. Given that the
background session only provides examples, I believe it should not be a problem
to keep it in.
Since the document has been in circulation for quite some time, including
through public comments, I would prefer not making the suggested change (while
admitting that it is a friendly amendment).
Would that be ok or do you insist on striking out that description?

I just reviewed the document, and there is one friendly amendment, to strike
the paragraph on the IDN enabled whitelist operated by Mozilla.
I had alerted the JIG about this, but Mozilla abolished the IDN enabled list in
favor of a rules based system which favors the faster deployment and default
behavior of u-label display in the location bar.

Hi Jonathan,
Please find attached the Final Report on Universal Acceptance of IDN TLDs.
This represents the report for 1 of the 3 identified common interests
between the ccNSO and GNSO on IDNs.
Based on the charter of the JIG, the Finalized documents from the group are
submitted back to the respective chartering councils for consideration,
adoption and forwarding to the ICANN board.
We look forward to having the GNSO adopt the report.
I will make myself available to explain and discuss the report at council
meetings where appropriate.
