Dear All,
Thanks for pushing this information.
It is better the ICANN Board Of Directors give serious consideration these
issues(Membership Approval and Recent Elections).
Looking forward to a positive response from ICANN for our membership

Civil Society Movement Against Tuberculosis in Sierra Leone (CISMAT-SL) is a
Civil Society led movement, non-profit making and a coalition of Civil Society
Organizations working on the campaign against tuberculosis in Sierra Leone in
order to promote the involvement of Civil Society groups in TB campaigns and
increase advocacy efforts for the prevention, early diagnosis and care and
control of TB in Sierra Leone.
Realizing that TB is the leading cause of death among people living with HIV
which is the most important risk factor for developing TB. Almost one in four
deaths among people with HIV is due to TB. The implementation of collaborative
TB/HIV activities including the Three Is and earlier initiation of ART is
proven to prevent unnecessary deaths among people living with HIV. However, the
scale up of implementation of activities particularly the Three Is for HIV/TB
(Isoniazid preventive therapy, intensified case finding for TB, and Infection
control) is very low. For example by the end of 2009 only 5% of all people
living with HIV were screened for TB and less than 1% are provided with
isoniazid preventive therapy.
Recognized of the fact that HIV/AIDS is fueling a resurgence of TB in many
areas of the world particularly Sierra Leone. Global incidence of TB has
increased over the past 10 years, killing approximately 2 million people
annually. At the same time, TB is a leading cause of death by infectious
disease for people living with HIV/AIDS. Yet when contrasted with the extent of
social mobilization around HIV/AIDS, the lack of political commitment and Civil
Society involvement to TB control is striking.

Not-for-Profit Operational Concerns Constituency's (“NPOC”) Request for ICANN
Board Assistance with Membership Approval and Recent Elections
Hi All,
Below and attached the final letter NPOC submitted to the ICANN Board regarding
the reluctance of some NCSG Executive Council members to review and approve
NPOC organization applicants to formally join the NCSG (and thereby receive
voting rights).
It is very important that NPOC members participate in next Tuesday’s (October
25, 2011) NCSG meeting with the ICANN Board in Dakar, Senegal. Remote meeting
participation is provided: http://dakar42.icann.org/node/26917. This webpage
also has a link to generate a calendar appointment which will automatically
convert the meeting time to your local time (very helpful!).
We will keep you posted!
