Re: [npoc-voice] Beijing meeting

Dear NPOC colleagues,

In response to the call for nomination for travel support to the Beijing
meeting,  I would like to submit my name. Indeed, I would be interested in
receiving this travel allocation that would allow me to participate to the
next ICANN meeting in Beijing for the following reasons. As chair of the
Program Committee of NPOC´s Executive Committee, I had the opportunity not
only to lead the organization of the two workshops that NPOC delivered
during the Toronto meeting but also to be actively involved during these
two meetings. I was also responsible for organizing an NPOC workshop
during the 2012 IGF that took place in Azerbaidjan.   All these activities
were implemented as part of a specific outreach strategy that as a team,
we wrote and started implemented last year. Being able to attend the
Beijing meeting would allow me to keep on being actively implicated "on
the ground" during what will be for us as a constituency, a follow-up
phase of the processes triggered in Toronto and Azerbaidjan in terms of
issues touched upon and networking efforts initiated to enhance NPOC´s
mission.

Furthermore, generally speaking my duties as chair of the Program
Committee imply that I have to lead the organization of NPOC activities
prior to ICANN meetings. Being able to attend personnally these meetings
would be an opportunity for me to assess the quality of the work that has
been done during the preparatory phase and would also allow me identify
aspects that could be improved.
