Hi Alain,

Thanks for the reply. I am cc'ing npoc@xxxxxxxxx <javascript:;> as on your
distribution, but if a list then I am not subscribed. please forward.

Klaus, hello again.

Marie-laure hello! Very good to have seen your application for the
ATRT position. I hope you will also be interested in the positions
ICANN's nominating committee will fill this year. Please see
<http://nomcom.icann.org> And please contact me if you have any
questions.

About NPOC and NomCom. I would be happy to join one of your regular
monthly calls (my guess you have monthly calls -- and I'm in Tokyo so
also depends on the time of your call) or we could arrange a one-off
call. Let me know what works best. Other NomCom members might also
join.

Very much like to encourage NPOC members to apply for any/all
positions, and would also welcome your thoughts on others who might be
interested. When we talk to the ICANN community about Director
positions the usual response is to describe a set of skills and
experience that are rather business oriented (e.g. previous experience
on boards of similar international or internationally-minded
organizations, few hundred millions in turnover, complex
organizations, ability to see how strategic plans are implemented and
work with a budget, etc etc.) NomCom does take care to invite
applications from people with not for profits experience, but the
tendency is towards for profit.

I think it would be interesting to see people from non-commercial
background on the ICANN board: president of a university (Linda
WIlson, one of the ICANN's founding board members comes to mind as a
model <http://www.icann.org/en/groups/board/wilson.htm>), perhaps
someone who has run/held senior positions in an IGO? Someone who has
run a global NGO? Perhaps NPOC members might be able to suggest a few
people.

And there are also vacancies in the GNSO, ccNSO and ALAC. Not just
about the ICANN board.

Don't worry about coordinating applications. Candidates are
considered on their individual merits not as representatives of any
particular group.

Best,

Adam
