[pdp-pcceg-feb06] Lisbon logistics
[To: pdp-pcceg-feb06[at]gnso.icann.org] Dear All, For those of you who will be travelling to Lisbon for the ICANN meetings please find a few helpful details below. The meeting will take place in the Corinithia Lisboa Hotel http://www.icann-lisboa.pt/en/homepage/index.html Address: Av. Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, nº 105, 1099-031 Lisboa - Portugal Phone: +351 21 723 63 63 Fax: +351 21 723 63 64 The hotel is a short (20-30 min.) taxi ride from the airport - it should cost less than 10 Euros. There are currency exchanges and ATMs available at the airport. There is no ATM in the hotel but there is one a short walk up the street. Breakfast is included in the cost of your room if you are staying at the Corinithia Lisboa Hotel and is served on the lobby level in the breakfast room. All meeting rooms are located on Level 1 - the GNSO Working room is 'Floriana 3' located on Level one where the GNSO Council meetings will be held. For the weather see: http://www.strawberryworld-lisbon.com/lisbon/weather.html Currently a little cool and breezy. Our local hosts are trying to arrange with the hotel for the Internet connections in the room to be free but I do not yet know if this will happen. If you purchase Internet time, you pay for only the time you are logged on - for instance, if you purchase 24 hours of time, it is not one day - unless of course, you do nothing but stay logged on to the Internet! Electricity 220V 50Hz, electric Plug type Europlug **** EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - EUROPE STARTS DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME AT 2:00 AM SUNDAY MARCH 25 - YOU WILL LOSE AN HOUR OF SLEEP THAT NIGHT. Also the hotel rooms do not have clocks in them - they do have the automated phone wake up system - if you need a clock, bring one with you. Please let me know, off the list, if you would like to make use of the remote participation facilities for the meetings on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 March. Please note the ICANN public participation site that has been launched: http://www.icann.org/announcements/announcement-15mar07.htm Thank you. Kind regards. Glen
