revised registry contracts
Folks at ICANN: Thank you for including a 10% price cap in the contracts. There are those who say that prices should be going down due to technological and economic efficiencies, but at least a cap in this range is vastly superior to giving unlimited price-setting power to a TLD-specific monopoly. It would also be good to have explicit language against differential price increases (differential price decreases could be allowed). It would also be good to have more contract competition and less guaranteed renewability. Also, the decision-making time frame seems rushed â leaving little time for discussion of such important issues. Why rush this? Thank you for your consideration of these comments. Sincerely, Bob Connor |
