It is now common place for institutions and government whose purpose is to
protect to turn against the very entities they are suppose to serve.
This action does encourage competiti on, which has been the invisible hand
behind the growth of the Internet. It stiffles it dead in its tracks and it is
unfortunate that ICANN pursues this course of action.
The Internet will find a way because the very nature of ICANN's betrayal and
the consequences that follow as a result will force the Internet community and
governments to rethink their position with giving such powers to such profit
driven organisations.
From a concerned UK and Internet citizen. PS change is the only permanent
thing in life and business.
