In support of the settlement

In regards to this decision, consumers have never benefitted from
litigation in the high technology sector, as it slows down advances and
drives up costs for consumers. Any innovation is better than
litigation. The recent dispute settlement between ICANN and VeriSign is
a give-take agreement, and a positive step for the future of American
technological advances. Individuals, families and small businesses
across the country rely upon the Internet for a fast and free exchange
of goods, services and information each and every day. New domain names
are registered, owned and transfered for a fairly nominal fee all the
time every year. So much progress has been made over the past decade,
yet still, the future seems bright and limitless. The ICANN board
should finally put this long drawn out dispute behind them, approve the
settlement at the Vancouver meeting next week, and focus on bigger
international issues that will shape the future of the Internet - such
as a potential UN power grab. Please move on. Thanks for the
opportunity to voice my opinion on the matter.
