Thanks Rafik.
Perhaps I can help by also pointing members of the WG to our agenda
(http://gnso.icann.org/meetings/agenda-council-21jul11-en.htm), and more
specifically agenda item 8, where the GNSO Council has laid out its
understanding of the timeline that would need to be followed in order to
achieve the Board's objective of them getting a result in time for Dakar.
Also for the WG's info, the next 2 GNSO Council meetings are currently
scheduled for Sept 8 and Oct 6. We did discuss yesterday the possibility of
scheduling an extra call during August specifically to allow us to look at the
JAS final report, but it was agreed that this was too short as no final report
could be produced by then.
Rafik made the point during yesterday's call that it would also help if
individual GNSO groups were willing to try and work to look at the report asap
once this group has sent it to the GNSO.
So I just wanted to update this group and highlight the fact that the Council
is working hard to ensure this WG's final report can be considered as quickly
as possible.
Thanks,
Stéphane Van Gelder
GNSO Council Chair
