All,
While I appreciate the work on cost reductions and the possible benefit on
bundled applications that is referenced in the GAC/ALAC statement (paragraph
66), I simply cannot support the changed language on bundling as it is written.
We spent many, many hours discussing this issue of bundling, and many key WG
members signed a letter supporting this in concept. I have no problem
including this as a mention in the final report as it was in the earlier draft
-- as a minority view that only some recommended.
However, to say that we agreed not to consider this is inaccurate and I oppose
that language 100%.
The earlier language reflects the discussion over many months and the diversity
of opinion on this issue, while the current language does not.
Thank you, Andrew

Subject: [soac-newgtldapsup-wg] Latest draft of JAS WG Final Report
Hello, JAS WG members,
Attached please find the most recent draft of the JAS WG Final Report, both as
a redline and a clean copy. This is the "20110906 (RHv3SGv3)" draft. Kindly
base any comments regarding the text on this draft.
Note: We're also attaching a "Format Only" draft, for those who would like to
see what the final formatting will look like. Please be sure not to use this
version for your text comments, however.
PROGRESS IN THE ATTACHED "20110906 (RHv3SGv3)" DRAFT
In this draft, you will see:
- Incorporation of Tijani's language re "Support Candidate Eligibility
Requirements";
- Incorporation of the WG discussion on Tue, 9 Sep; and
- The beginning of an overall edit for readability, etc. (without
substantive changes), which is ongoing.
THIS FRIDAY'S JAS WG CALL
During the upcoming call on Tuesday, 9 September, we will be reviewing:
- The remaining comments, attached to paragraphs 33, 42, 67b (final
bullet), 67d and 68d; and
- Any remaining issues WG members would like to raise.
As always, it would be helpful if WG members could review this material before
Friday's call. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Many thanks,
Seth
