unfortunately, due to flight schedules (returning home from the IGF), I will
not likely be able to join (and even if so rather late).

So I will have to send in my apologies for the meeting later today.

Will listen to the recording and further correspond over email.

 

 

A brief statement of interest:

1.     Current vocation, employer and position

2.     Type of work performed in #1 above

Management

 

3.     Identify any financial ownership or senior management/leadership
interest in registries, registrars or other firms that are interested
parties in ICANN policy or any entity with which ICANN has a transaction,
contract, or other arrangement.

Employee and director of ".Asia" Registry

 

4.     Identify any type of commercial or non-commercial interest in ICANN
GNSO policy development processes and outcomes.  Are you representing other
parties? Describe any arrangements/agreements between you and any other
group, constituency or person(s) regarding your nomination/selection as a
work team member.

5.     Identify any type of commercial or non-commercial interest in
internationalized data registration or issues relating to the work of the
IRD-WG.

Pioneer of IDN, and as above (DotAsia and ISOC HK).

 

6.      The Board requested that WG members have specific “knowledge,
expertise, and experience in these areas”.  Please identify any knowledge,
expertise or experience you have that would be relevant to this work.

Engineering and policy development experience for IDN, registry and WHOIS.

 

7.     Describe any tangible or intangible benefit that you receive from
participation in such processes. For example, if you are an academic or NGO
and use your position to advance your ability to participate, this should be
a part of the statement of interest, just as should employment by a
contracted party, or a business relationship with a non- contracted party
who has an interest in policy outcomes.

Dear members of the IRD-WG:

Thank you to all of you who participated in our doodle poll to set up our
kick-off meeting.  We had a very good response to the poll with a majority
of participants indicating that they can meet on Tuesday, 24 November, from
0700-0830 PST/900 to 1030 EST/1400-1630 UMT/1700-1830 Russia
(Moscow)/2200-2330 China(Beijing)/2300-2430 Japan(Tokyo)/0300-0400 New
Zealand (Wellington).  For other times this World Clock converter may be
helpful: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html.  Prior to the
meeting we will send you the teleconference information with local toll free
and toll numbers.

NOTE: We realize the this time does not work for everyone and one of our
first orders of business at the meeting will be to determine a regular
schedule of meetings that can best accommodate various time zones.

Here is a draft agenda.  Please feel free to suggest changes or additions.
