Outstanding Issues for Telnic
The .tel-Telnic proposal states that .tel domains will be used to hold contacts and references to content; each bundle is called a Telname. Looking at Telnic's proposal and their web sites, they seem to have been developing the Telname concept for quite a while. However, there are still outstanding issues and I would appreciate you answering the following questions:
1) Is the intention of .tel-Telnic to allow only restricted use of .tel domains?
2) If so, would this usage exclude A/AAAA/A6 records? Thus, a registrant could put contacts into their .tel domain, but they would need a domain in another TLD to put any final IP Address records.
3) Will it exclude any other record types? For example, would SRV records be allowed - would MX records be allowed?
4) Will Telnic expect to actively enforce these rules, or use a passive/reactive scheme, responding to objections from Individuals?
Many thanks,
Larry Boston
