We appreciate this ICANN initiative for travel support for volunteers in which
huge amount is involved.
Actually this expense is going to be proposed to acquire better resources with
intellectual minds to sit together during the important policies making process.
There would be two aspects for motivating volunteers:
1. First is to obtain their valuable input. &
2. The second one is to obtain representation from different regions of
Internationalized Internet (Making the Internet Localized & Multilingual).
Proposal # 1.
I would like to propose that the community of participants may please be
increased for the voluntarily representation from different regions.
I would also like to draw the kind attention that NCUC is not listed in this
proposed Traveling Support Policy draft
https://delhi.icann.org/files/TravelSupportExpenseDiscussion_0208.pdf.
Proposal # 2.
A request is being initiated to add "ICANN GNSO Non-Commercial Users
Constituency" (NCUC ) to avail this facility of travel support because at least
Non-Commercial Users deserve to receive financial support (comparing to any
other profit earning organization or individuals who can afford this cost
themselves).
Proposal # 3.
The financial assistance & support program may please be reviewed according to
its primary definition and one who can afford this cost himself or if his
organization can bear the traveling cost without any loss, those participant
may please be excluded (with special excuse) from this facility to reduce extra
burden on the ICANN.
Best Regards
Imran Ahmed Shah
