Dear members of Icann,
SCPP (http://www.scpp.fr) is a society that collects fees due to its
members from sound recording and music video users and distributes these
fees on its members' behalf. It has been responsible for the collective
administration and protection of record and video producers' rights since
1985. More than 700 producers belong to SCPP, including many independents
and the international majors like EMI, Warner, BMG, Universal or Sony.
An anti-piracy unit coordinates prevention, preparation of case papers and
legal action. A team of endorsed investigators record infringements and
facilitate court action. This team works in close collaboration with
authors' society (SACEM), the IFPI (representing the record industry
worldwide) and the french police and customs.
SCPP anti-piracy unit fights traditional piracy, CD-R piracy and Internet
piracy.
Whois enables to us :
· To identify cybersquatters and others who are infringing trademarks
online;
· To determine the identity of those conducting piracy or product
counterfeiting over the Internet;
· To investigate online frauds and scams, such as phishing schemes, and
to assist law enforcement and consumer protection agencies in combating
them;
· To help manage their own domain name portfolios;
· To carry out e-commerce by learning who they are dealing with online.
We wish that you not choose and adopt "Formulation 1". Thank you for
advance.
