Proposed .xxx Domain

Dear Sir or Madam:
I wish to express to you my strongly-held opinion that the addition of a
".xxx" domain, as the proposal now stands, will only serve to increase the
plague of pornography on our nation, and also do nothing to protect our
children
from being exposed to a variety of horrific images.
If the proposal to add the .xxx domain included a law which would require
ALL pornographic websites to operate ONLY from a .xxx domain, I, and probably
millions of other Americans, would welcome and support such a proposal.
Enacting legislation that limited pornography to a .xxx domain would enable
parents
like me to lock out any domain from search engines on computers in my
household, thereby preventing my child from being exposed to images that no
child
should ever see.
As it stands, however, it appears that adding a .xxx domain will only create
an outlet for even more pornography to spread across the Internet. What on
earth are people thinking, in suggesting this, when it would be so easy to
protect our children while allowing those who view pornography to view it
freely? Why is no one proposing a domain where all pornography can be
contained?
Has anyone ever suggested that our country is a better place for having huge
amounts of pornography available at the click of a mouse button?
Please consider my thoughts on this matter, as I know that I speak for many
people.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Margaret McCullough
