I am an adult webmaster and I oppose .xxx
This proposal will allow repressive governments to easily ghettoise adult
content and censor it.
It raises all sorts of questions about free speech, and what constitutes
"adult" content.
It will also impose an extra burden on adult webmaster who will need to
purchase the .xxx equivalent of their existing domain names at $60 each to
avoid cybersquatting. Most of these names will not be used for anything else.
There is no system in place to ensure copyright holders will be entitled to
their existing names, meaning that any release of .xxx domains will be a
free-for-all for squatters and extortionists. Just look at what happened with
.eu
ICM registry does not represent the adult business in this. The majority of
adult webmasters oppose .xxx
Please do not allow .xxx to become a reality.
Yours etc
