XXX TLD

Even as a voluntary TLD, the simple nature of this XXX TLD is fraught with danger to the Freedom of individual rights. The mere fact that a TLD would exist, that could be at some future date, mandated to being REQUIRED, is dangerous enough, to warrant rejection of this application. And many Governments, including the USA, are under pressure from special interest groups, to do just that.

Already there are Legislatures willing to try and push for making this 'voluntary' TLD mandatory within their jurisdictions, which is just one more reason why this TLD should be rejected.

The arguments have been clearly stated in the past public commenting stage, and nothing has changed to make this a necessary or even wanted, TLD. The claim that this TLD is widely supported within the Adult Industry is unsubstantiated, and cloaked in secrecy, that shows to what lengths this private organization is willing to go, to get its way.

Members of the Adult Industry *do not* support this initiative today, nor have they in the past. The argument that so many have pre-registered for their domains, under a XXX TLD is true (to a point), but is not based on the Adult Industry supporting the formation of this TLD, but rather is due to small business operators (and larger ones) wishing to protect their name brand, should ICANN fall prey to the tactics by this corporate entity.

ICANN has an obligation to do what is in the public's interest, not to appease the corporate entities who seek to feather their own nest, or recoup losses they may have incurred, from ill conceived plans, or projects.

Respectively

Ian Kovnats
