Premium Name Auction/Allocation
Hello, I wish to express my strong vote against the .xxx domain names. It will accomplish little in the way of cleaning up the Adult industry and will only drive the bad sites offshore, where there are little restictions. Make mandatory labelling for all Adult sites with no entry to site except through a Warning page. This incudes all advertising affiliate free galleries. If all site have to do it it will not hurt the Adult business model. These few excerpts from the proposed .xxx documents should wake up anyone who thinks by luck they will be registering a top level Adult .xxx name. It is not going to happen all the top domains will be either IP reserved by existing sites or will be auctioned offf to the highest bidder for many thousands of dollars each. So all that will be available for the masses is the leftovers. So who does this new Proposal help? Only the registrar. Also watch out as this is the thin edge of the wedge and next you will be told you must migrate all your Adult sites to the .xxx domain. Of course you may have to move from short, sexy and valuable dot com to blah blah blah.xxx As that is all that will be available after all the auctions etc. Note these details in .xxx Proposal: "Registry Operator intends to reserve certain names, to be permanently reserved or allocated on an other-than first-come, first-served basis" "Policy for Premium Names and names allocated on other than first come/first served basis published and offered."
