opposition to xxx-tld registry application

To whom it may concern:

I oppose the xxx-tld registry application on the following grounds:

It will enable violations of free speech, as guaranteed by the US Constitution, by enabling ISPs to filter and block .xxx domains from their browsers; and, rather than protecting minors from adult materials, it will make it easier for minors to circumvent the system and find adult sites.

Instead, consideration should be given to creating a kid-safe domain extension, such as .kid, which could allow parents to choose to allow only .kid sites to appear on their computers.

While the larger part of the population may not be interested in adult sites, the fact remains that "seperate but equal" has been deemed unconstitutional and an attempt to segregate by force will result in costly lawsuits that can be avoided by an opt-in .kid choice.

Regards,
Deborah Rosen
