As you wish - it takes some time to get the ICANN staff to allow you
to post to the ALAC mailing list, so a separate list could be better.
I can set it up easily on my personal server, if you prefer.

Ok. It would be great to know the final composition of the NomCom once
it's known (though I imagine that ICANN will announce it officially).

I came up with the "supermajority" suggestion - another possibile
choice is preferential voting, though in my opinion it leaves the way
open to splitting the board into a "majority" and a "minority" right
from its appointment.

It seems reasonable to me. You should perhaps discuss whether you
(either as the NomCom or as individual NomCom participants) want to
make public calls to solicit nominations from the general public.
