Stephen Cohen, who stole sex.com in 1995, and was hiding out in Mexico
since 2000, was arrested by Mexican police earlier this week and is now in
jail in San Diego. He owes Gary Kremen, the legitimate owner of sex.com,
$82M.
Cohen sent NSI, at the time the .COM registry and registrar, a forged fax
which they didn't bother to verify. Kremen sued NSI who settled in April
2004, reportedly for $20M. (Was it NSI or Verisign who settled?)
