In allowing registrars to renew names potentially without
the consent of the domain name holders, please protect the Internet community
by not allowing the registrar to make money by reselling these names on the
open market. I have seen a number of names which after expiration “magically”
become owned by affiliates of the registrars, never having expired. In some
cases, the accounts receivable department takes ownership and then bids are solicited
to sell the name.
Please extend the rules prescribed to affiliates of the
registrars also.
