<<< At its meeting on 15-16 July 2000 in Yokohama, Japan, the ICANN Board is expected to consider adopting a policy under which new top-level domains would be introduced to the Internet Domain Name System in a measured and responsible manner. >>

LOL....I just saw the header to this forum. ICANN's copy is above. Don't you love the words, "is expected to consider." That's all ICANN ever does--when it is not commissioning arbiters to take generic domains on bogus grounds, as they did with Traditions.com.

Their copy should have read, "The ICANN board WILL establish a policy . . . "

Oh, I know they have to talk about it first, in Japan. . . and that the policy is likely to come in the weeks that follow. But sheesh. These non-commital expectations. After all these years, its become its own parody.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but they lend themselves so well to satire. Maybe they should host Saturday Night Live.

The arbiters, anyway. Their decisions are hilariously funny.
