The situation at hand for me, with the suggestion of new TLDs is that
most search engines require 4 months before they will list your site.
Sure they probably suggest a 2 week window before the spider gets
around to your site, however we all know that it's a lot longer. 

My point being that if you force, or create the .shop domains and the
first people on their horses get "icecream.shop" or "mall.shop" or whatever, they will be monetarily rewarded simply because the end
user will be typing in combinations of words that seem logical.

Now who gets first choice at *.shop or others?  There are going to
be many lawsuits. 

I don't see how .shop or .sex will help.  Other then the ability
to filter but if you think i'd give up any *.com I own that is in the top 10 listing of a search engine, ya'll are damn crazy.
