Stop wasting your time posting these messages. Afilias, the cartel, was created for
one reason. The cartel was set up to produce a mirror of dotcom for WIPO affiliated
companies. Afilias won the contract before they had even applied. ICANN's mandate
is to offer protectionism for WIPO to the detriment of Internet users. As expected
the primary aim of yesterday's report was to trash IODesign's application. This is
a step-by-step process. The tld report was to soften the blow from the anticipated
outrage from the Internet community when ICANN awards Afilias the contract for dot
web next week.
Why Chris Ambler wastes his energy posting in this forum is beyond
me when he knew from the start what Afilias was all about. Afilias was the product
that ICANN wanted and NSI, Register.com etc created; to tackle what they saw was
going to be a potential problem, IODesign.
ICANN and the registrars had to put
the fire out that is IODesign. Instead of using water, they decided to nuke them.
The threat from IODesign was so real, that they formed a cartel to apply for the
dot web tld!
ICANN, enough with the spin already.
