Afilias will establish a "Sunrise Period" during many months and they forecast that around 500,000 domains (!!!) will be registered by trademark owners!!! Of course generic people will not allowed to register: read Afilias' application. You complain about IOD, that registered 20,000 names so far. But I can still find very popular dictionary words available. I did not registered them because I don't care (I registered a few domains that I needed, and probably I will register other ones).
