In your hypothetical (and unlikly) scenario, Afilias, LLC could go bankrupt, but
its member companies cannot. Because it is a Limited Liability Company, the total
amount of money each member can lose is equal to their total investment in the company.
And obviously, none of the 19 members have invested all of their money in Afilias.
If
Afilias has indemnified ICANN, I don't see how ICANN could be held responsible for
any excess fees.
