I am amazed at the absence of any of the .shop applications from the final recommendations of the ICANN staff.  It was obviousely popular as it ended up in MSNBC's top ten, but more important than that, it made sense!  .biz isn't going to be any different than .web!  If you look at the research numbers, it is easy to see that everyone can claim they have some business on the web.  Where .shop seemed to be different was that every site on the web was NOT necessarily conducting e-commerce. What a considerable mistake by the ICANN advisors!
