You say that according to ICANN,
none of the applicants had good plans, but if you read the evaluation of the applicants,
and then compare them to the "winners" you will see some very distinct similarities.
In particular, check out Commercial Connect's application. Compared to most
of the winning aps, this one is pretty darn close to the same. I can't imagine
that if ICANN really wanted .shop that they couldn't have worked with this company
to get it done right.
