Dear Anthony,
This is the debate ICANN and Afilias want us to have. It is your ideas
vs. theirs, and who says that yours are the better of the two?
The following is the debate which ICANN and Afilias do not want us to have:
The "sunshine" period is a way to take a billion dollars in street
valued domain names for themselves and their hi-powered friends who will owe them,
and to keep the names from you and from me.
A billion
dollars for .web now, a billion dollars for .banc tomorrow, and a billion dollars
for .whatever the next day.
With ICANN and Afilias,
it is not the nobility of efficiently, and competitively running the world's top-level
domains: its the money.
By the way, NSI, which
was worth zilch 6-years ago, is now valued at over $20 billion.
Best wishes, Eliahu
