If VeriSign can benefit from the spelling mistakes of people wanting to visit
one of my websites, then I should be able to benefit from the spelling mistakes
of people trying to visit VeriSign.
So... I registered http://www.veri-sign.com, and will be using
the site to parody the site finder service, and provide independent,
non-sponsored links to other sites of my choosing!
I enclose a copy of the Email thread between myself and VeriSign (read from
the bottom up):

Dear Peter,
We will make our management team aware of your desire to
have the option of

At this

I read with
interest your press release regarding your flagrant misuse
of power in
redirecting all non-existent and misspelt web address
entries to your own
server.
My "constructive criticism" to you is that you should be ashamed
by this
display of arrogance, and I look forward to seeing your
immediate
withdrawl of this hijacking of my Internet experience as soon
as
possible.
In the meantime, I am doing my bit to "to improve Web
navigation for
Internet users" by registering "veri-sign.com", and suggesting
that
users who visit this address may have wanted to use another
registrar.
Please inform me how I can avoid being redirected to your
sitefinder in
future
With my lowest regards,
Peter
